I believe wherever dreams dwell, the heart calls it home. So may you untangle yourself from the twist of melancholy and let your thoughts carry you back to the birthplace of your truth.
We are a collection of stories, travelling through time; through words, through paintings and through photographs.
I have always loved the arts; visual, language, music. It's such a huge part of who I am. And photography has always been something I thought about, but like an impossible dream that I didn't believe I could reach. I definitely stood in my own way.
In College, we had photography classes as part of our creative program. I used a Canon AE-1 35mm film Camera. We had a full studio with backdrops, variety of different lighting. A dark room. All of it.
It was honestly the most memorable time in all of my three years in College. Although storyboarding, filming/editing came close. We also made ads for the College Newspaper, and seeing my work in print in whatever capacity was nice. I still do graphic design work to this day, it's just something that never left me, like painting or doodling.
Angelina is a Russian Canadian photographer, based out of Nova Scotia, Canada. She is a dreamer, an adventurer, and (a secret hopeless romantic... but don't tell anyone!) She is married to the love of her life, Chris, who is her endless source of laughter and sanity. She is also a mom to two incredible little ladies with fierce attitudes and vast imaginations.
Angelina, Chris and their girls are big supporters of Hinchinbrook Farm, Hope for Wildlife, One Tree Planted, SHAID animal shelter and Cystic Fibrosis Canada. They see it as their duty to help the world, and especially the animals around them in any capacity.
When Angelina is not photographing families, she can be found gardening, cooking, going on tiny adventures with her family, and taking care of all of the furry babies that they've adopted along the way. And always... ALWAYS dancing, like no one's watching!

Hello, I am so pleased you are here! My name is Angelina Obritsch, or Lina for short. Average Jane is my pen name so to speak, the writer within me. I'm a big Jane Austen fan, and certainly her life's great achievement were anything but average, yet there is something humbling about the word that makes me appreciate it so.
English is not my first language. I came to Canada when I was ten. It was a blur of a time. All words sounding like gibberish. Coming to a whole new world (aka downtown Toronto) right before Christmas, it was like living in that Home Alone in New York kind of moment without the neighbourhood bandit bits. I was just in no way as clever as Kevin McCallister. My first impressions were that CN Tower was pretty cool and those little white powdered donuts were like heaven!
When I was 19, I worked as an assistant/second shooter for a Wedding Photographer downtown Toronto. It was so fast paced. From big Church Ceremonies, to Chinese Tea Ceremonies to a different location for wedding party photos and then to reception. An amazing experience that I am so grateful for, but at the time I had my heart so set on working for an ad agency, that I didn't even realize my dream job was right under my nose that entire time.
Fast forward so many years later, photography has always been that missed opportunity, my 'what if'. What and if, are simple words indeed, but put together, have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life. I didn't want to live in the 'what if' anymore so I took my leap of faith. Now, I can't imagine my world without it.
Not a day goes by that we don't go out for a little cruise ride along the water to watch the sunset. It's our time for reflecting, and fuelling our imaginations. There's a dog named Oscar who lives at Indian Point who we love seeing on our drives. We make a point to go there just to see him, but also because at the end tail of Indian Point shows you a sunset made of magic and wonder.
My babies are my sun and moon. The world makes perfect sense with them in it. I love being their mom. They make the world a better place, with all of their love for all living creatures. Even the winter worms (not a real thing but that's what Grandpa calls worms that come out when it's cold outside).
Chris; my husband, my best friend, the love of my life. He always supports every crazy idea that comes to my head, making me feel like nothing is impossible. He truly inspires me the most. Chris is a famous pixel artist and game creator. Together, we run two video game production companies.
